  I asked if I could spend the night there with my husband who had just been admitted from the hospital after seizures and a heart attack. I was told that they didn't have accommodations, but that I could visit as long as I like, and that they would try to find me a cot or a recliner. When I arrived, I was told that the woman I spoke to told them I was spending the night, and they brought me a recliner, sheets, blanket, and a pillow. This morning, although by 10:20 my husband had still not received his anti-seizure meds, they sent someone in to tell me that HIPAA prohibits me from staying because it is not a private room. I guess they have different HIPAA than the hospital does. BS. After some other doubletalk, she sent in the woman who I originally spoke with. She denied saying what she said, dropped the bogus HIPAA argument, and said it was because they didn't have accommodations. As I was sitting on the accommodations. So I handed her my bedding, and said here are your accommodations, now I'm just sitting in a visitor's chair. She took them away. Afterwards, hubby's roommate told us that the head nurse chewed out two aides for not doing what they were assigned to do, right in front of patients. I forgot to mention that twice during our argument, the admissions woman threatened to kick him out of the facility.
